The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC, IITD) was initiated in January, 2007 with a vision to promote Entrepreneurship amongst IIT Delhi students and to build an exhaustive resource pool to aid potential student entrepreneurs.

Since its inception, EDC have organized various events ranged over social entrepreneurship events on campus to PAN IIT business plan contests.

Indian Regional League for Basketball and Volleyball

IndiaKhelo announces Indian Regional League for Basketball and Volleyball in association with CommonFloor.com

Indian Startups are not shying away from going offline and touching all part of the ecosystem. Indiakhelo, India’s premier sporting site, announced Bengaluru’s first ever Indian Regional League for Basketball and Volleyball for teams from schools, colleges and apartment complexes. Commonfloor, India’s biggest online apartment community will be co-organising the tournament for apartment complexes. The tournament will host more than 150 teams across 35 colleges, 35 schools and 20 apartment complexes. Some of the apartments who have confirmed their participation are IDEB Springfields, Ferns Rainbow Drive, Sobha Jasmine, Purva Fountainsquare, Suncity Corporate Leisure, L&T Southcity Apartments, etc. The teams will play their matches on Dec 5th and Dec 12th at Jayanagar stadium to announce the final winners across various categories.

While the tournament will be a very important addition to the school and college level sporting competitions, it will provide apartment level players a first ever chance to move ahead from local level matches and compete with the best players across the city. Sumit Jain, co-Founder, Commonfloor.com said, ”Our association with the IRL is a win-win situation for apartment teams to move on from gully-sports and play in the highest competitive form and the most authentic professional setting. Moreover, it is yet another opportunity to reaffirm the community spirit that we stand for.”

Xtreme Startups team announces Startup Morning in Bangalore

Start-up Morning/Evening” events are organized with the support and help from a lot of friends in the startup community. Previous editions of the event have been held Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh and Pune. In all events we were more than houseful on the capacity, participation was intense and interesting discussions took place. Read coverage here.

Recently, these events are organized under the Xtreme Startups banner. Xtreme Startups is a Non-Profit initiative to support /promote entrepreneurship. This edition of Xtreme Startups is supported by NSCREL, Chitkara University , Morpheus Venture Partners (MVP) and Startupnews.in.
